In 2004, at the age of 17, Mike Brodie left home, hoping a freight train to Jacksonville, Florida. Although this first trip lasted only a few days, it was the start of a life long journey that would see him become one of the most intuitive photographers of his generation.
On finding a polaroid camera camera stuffed behind a car seat, Brodie began to produce a document of his journey across the expanse of North America, alongside a group of like minded young people.
This new collection of 50 facsimile polaroids recounts Bodie’s earliest work, when he traveled under the moniker The Polaroid Kid.
